Sour Cherry Pie Filling
From the kitchen of: Julia Horsley Is there anything that says, “Let’s eat!” better than a homemade pie? This filling rivals even Grandma's cherry pie!

  • 1⅓ c sugar
  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • ⅓ c all purpose flour
  • 2 tbs butter melted
  • 2 (14.5-oz) can pitted tart red cherries drained well
  1. Mix all ingredients together. May be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When ready to make pie, remove filling from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
