from the kitchen of: Tom VanWagoner These delicious ribs are infused with apple juice before being coated with a perfectly balanced blend of spices and grilled until tender
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tbs smoked paprika
  • 1 tbs granulated garlic
  • 1 tbs granulated onion
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • 2 tbs salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 full rack pork or beef ribs (5 pounds)
  • 2 qt apple juice
  • vegetable oil
  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. In a large pot, boil ribs in the apple juice for 10 minutes. This pre-cooking not only adds flavor but also helps to remove extra fat. Remove ribs from juice; cool. Preheat grill to high (approximately 400 to 425°F). When ribs have cooled, rub with vegetable oil, coating thoroughly – this step helps the rub adhere to the ribs. Rub the dry mixture into ribs well. Grill on high for 8 to 10 minutes on each side or until meat is tender. If desired, serve with your favorite barbecue sauce.
